Clothes don’t make a man, but there is no denying that all of us have our own sense of style where we feel the most comfortable. Being comfortable in our own skin translates into being confident and strong enough to constructively deal with any circumstances that life might throw at us. If we consider the fact that some of us might be single, facing all sorts of challenges that come with widowers dating, the questionable matchmaking skills of our friends or with meeting all sorts of peculiar characters, we can more than do with a little bit of extra self-confidence.
Today, we take a look at how you can help yourself feel better by slightly tweaking the way you dress, changing a few little details here and there, and emerging like a stronger individual from it all.
1. Fitted Jackets and Blazers are your Best Friends
A fitted jacket or blazer will give you the kind of shape that is attractive beyond any measure – the hourglass shape. It will visually make your waist smaller, make you look thinner, and it will complete any outfit. Obviously, you wouldn’t pair a jacket like this with sweatpants, or any kind of sportswear, but pretty much anything else goes. You can throw a blazer on top of a dress, a dress shirt for work or a t-shirt on the weekend. Make sure you match the seasons in your outfit, meaning you don’t pair a summery top with a heavy wool winter blazer and be careful about the color scheme. Stick to two or three different colors at once to avoid looking like a Christmas tree.
2. Hip-Hugging Denim
No matter how old you are or how old you feel, you can absolutely wear age-appropriate hip-hugging jeans that will make you look and feel more hip. When paired with a fitted jacket or blazer, you can pretty much wear any kind of top and look perfectly put together without having to try too hard. You can dress up your jeans with a cute pair of heels, provided the jeans are a little longer and fall nicely around the arch of your foot, or you can tuck them into your riding boots for a more casual look. A pair of hip-hugging denim is your go-to piece after work or on the weekend when you can pull off a more casual style but still look nicely polished.
3. Breathable Sportswear
Sportswear isn’t what it used to be. Saggy bottoms and shapeless tops are nowhere to be seen, and what you can get now are slim-fitting fabrics that act like shapers, beautifully accentuating your good parts and hiding the ones you’re not so proud of. A pair of breathable, nicely-fitted bottoms, a tank top or a t-shirt you won’t sweat it, and a sports jacket or sweatshirt make for a perfect weekend or vacation outfit that will give you a youthful kind of energy and glow. You don’t have to break the bank to wear outfits like these because all of these items go on sale at some point, depending on the make, so you can still be a frugal and savvy shopper and look and feel better than ever.
