5 Ways to Join The “Green” Movement

The planet is both at the best state it has ever been, for humanity. For animals, however, it is at its worst. There have been plenty of animals that have gone extinct and there are hundreds that are at risk of extinction if we continue to do what we have been doing for the past decades. There are things we as humans can do to help make a positive change in our world which will in turn help animals as well. For that reason, in this article we will be discussing five different ways to be “green” which may include wood pellets at some point.

Being “green” is a term given to people, companies, and habits. Going green reduces your individual carbon footprint which measures the amount of carbon dioxide that you emit into the atmosphere based on things like electricity and gas usage, water usage, household waste, smoking, fuel usage, and more. So how do you reduce your carbon footprint and thus join the “green” movement? By doing some of the things listed below:

  • Recycle your trash
  • Create products out of trash items
  • Compost kitchen waste
  • Pick up trash
  • Get a hybrid or fully-electric car
  • Limit your car usage
  • Turn off all lights
  • Use less water
  • Hand-wash your clothes
  • Take shorter showers

These are just a few of the things you can do to reduce your carbon footprint, but others include reducing the amount of time you leave AC and heater units on. You can also get a water filter to reduce the amount of water bottles you purchase over time, not only saving you money, but reducing the plastic bottles being thrown into the environment. You can also begin to think about growing your own food which will require the compost listed above and will save you money, reducing your footprint tremendously. Some of these will seem like a waste of time but imagine if everyone started to put these habits to use, the world would be a much better and green place. Little by little we would reduce the amount of pollutants going into the atmosphere and the earth would begin to heal itself from the amount of damage we have already done.

In conclusion in this article we discussed the topic of being “green” and listed a few ways in which you can join the green movement as well. By recycling trash items like batteries, water bottles, and other recyclable items you will be preventing them from ever hurting animals and environments and can even make some money off of it. You can also be green by picking up trash everywhere you go, getting a hybrid or electric car, and even stopping your car usage permanently. Finally, using less water and turning off the lights when they’re not being used is the simplest way to become a “greener” citizen.
